Link: BRAVO>PROJECT RUNWAY 2.
For some reason, I've been watching a lot of this show lately, probably because its frequent reruns seem to be on Bravo all the time. I usually am up fairly late too, trying to catch up on things once my kids have gone to bed. Anyway, for the same reasons the Apprenctice mildly interested me, I surprisingly find myself drawn to Project Runway. It's not fashion that intrigues me, but how the participants interact and work. The critics are also fun to watch, and I'm not always in agreement, probably because my fashion tastes are not particularly forward thinking. I've found myself liking stuff on this show that's often pointed out by the show's fashion experts panel as being too "old lady". So it's official... I am a frump!
Anyway, before I forget, I think it would be hilarious to do an iMovie spoof of this program and call it Project Hallway. I could have my colleagues do a fashion walkoff just as the Project Runway designers did in the socialite dress episode. Or perhaps it would be fun to run a class set up in the same structure as Project Runway. Each week, teams of students would have a challenge.. maybe they'd have to create various types of digital films each week. This list could include commericials, documentaries, interviews, speeches, politicial ads, children's stories etc. Hmm... I'm going to have to think about this. I'm not sure if middle schoolers would be up for the competitive aspects of this, but maybe this would work for sort of a bootcamp tech class at the high school level..
